Professional Web Design
OUR POLICES

We try and keep our designs looking as clean and simple as possible regardless of how complex the site gets. One of the most important considerations is the site's navigation. No matter how large a web site is you should always know where you are within the site, poor navigation will confuse anybody browsing the site which could result in them getting lost and they may leave, which is not productive.
We like to keep navigation clear and concise, with text perfectly visible. All of our web sites are tested on different screen sizes and browser platforms such Internet Explorer, Opera, Firefox and Safari (PC and Mac systems) as everyone uses something different.
Many web site designs employ too much technology or too much content. These techniques can result in a site that runs inefficiently. Designing your site around your intended audience can have a dramatic improvement on site performance.
Older age groups do not tend to appreciate the more interactive elements of a web site design, having things floating around can be very off putting for them. Many will want to see a layout where the navigation is clearly displayed and with text easily readable in case any visitor has any visual disabilities.
Middle age groups are not necessarily impressed with moving objects, they want a clear layout where they can find the information they are looking for fast and be able to navigate the site with ease. This age group doesn't have the time or patience to have to work out how to use the site.
Younger age groups will be able to appreciate higher technology designs, their minds are more tuned in to interactive elements and they have more time to work things out.

Even with the roll out of Broadband, site loading times are still as important as ever. The average user will only wait 10-15 seconds for a site to load. It is vital that the site is optimised to aide faster loading times, such as compressing images, using the correct formats, minimal code and keeping pages sizes to a minimum.
Having a site optimised for search engines is very important as this is the route to where you will gain new customers. While we can not guarantee search engine placement we certainly can give your site a good head start. Optimising the sites code and content for specific keywords and key phrases will go a long way to boost your rankings. Getting incoming links from other web sites will also help.
New sites can take anywhere from 6 weeks to 12 months to get the pages fully listed in the search engines. To aide listing times we also construct a site map of your web site just for the search engines, this way they will know all the pages in your site without having to physically visit them all.
A quicker route to attract new visitors is by starting a Pay Per Click (PPC) campaign. Although a cost is involved it will offer invaluable information as to the keywords/phrases being used to find your site. The cost itself is totally controllable and you can spend as little or as much as you like, you set the budget.
When we design a web site we take all the factors into account and construct a site based on the clients ideas and our professional experience and technical knowledge.

Employing Flash™ elements to a web site can increase interactivity and make browsing the site more interesting. To ensure browser compatibility and user accessibility guidelines are followed we tend to use Flash™ elements to enhance the browsers experience rather than build the site around flash technology.
There is a fine line where interactive designs and moving elements on a site become annoying and distract from the actual content on the site, so like all the great chefs would tell you don't over cook it and season sensibly.
